ELISEO PARRA is one Spain's leading performers and researchers of folk music outside and beyond the Flamenco tradition. He has traveled to small villages to rediscover old songs and musical instruments, and has learned how to play some instruments in the traditional style. Like Yaz and Depeche Mode, Erasure were a synth-based group, but they had stronger dance inclinations, as well as a sharper, more accessible sense of pop songcraft. Among the duo's hit singles are "Oh l'amour," "Chains of Love," "Blue Savannah," "Stop!," "Love to Hate You" and their cover of ABBA's ''Take a Chance on Me." The duo's latest release, "The Violet Flame," follows 2013's critically acclaimed "Snow Globe," and is the band's sixteenth studio album release.
