The soul-baring post-hardcore quartet Thursday released their debut, 'Waiting,' in 1999. Signing to the Victory label they issued 'Full Collapse' in 2001 and toured with acts like Boy Sets Fire and Sparta. Thursday's frequent gigging and furious passion fueled a grassroots response, and by 2002, the band was on the main stage of the Warped Tour and enjoying radio and MTV support of its single 'Understanding in a Car Crash.'

Formed in 1981, Queensryche emerged among many of the pop-metal band of the '80s with a progressive sound, drawing from the post-Van Halen guitar acrobatics and influences from Pink Floyd and Queen. Their best known breakthrough hit, 'Silent Lucidity,' from the album 'Empire' was the band's first Top 10 single.
